About Us

Telford Samaritans was founded in 1975, working from a small terraced house in King Street, Wellington. We later acquired the house next door, letting the ground floor while we used the first floor. We were, however, still pretty cramped.

 

In 1999 we were lucky enough to be given a National Lottery grant and were able to rebuild the centre to give us the building we have now, which allows us to do training onsite, an impossible task in the old building, and to have facilities which enable people with disabilities to volunteer.

 

We work with other branches to provide confidential, non-judgemental emotional support to those passing through crisis on a 24 hour, 365 day basis.
