Support Us - Donations & Fundraising back Apart from the cleaner, no one at Telford Samaritans gets a salary. The cost of running the centre (including phones, services, equipment and building maintenance, insurances, etc) comes to £24,000 a year. This works out at £461 a week, £66 a day or £2.75 an hour.
Each year we have to find this money ourselves as we don’t get any funding from the Government, so are extremely grateful to anyone who supports us.

Tax note: Please note that if you are a taxpayer there can also be a significant tax advantage. This is because, if you are willing to Gift Aid (click to download form) your donation, Samaritans can claim the income tax you paid on that money when you earned it, costing you nothing extra but gaining us much needed extra funds.

Fundraise and others ways to help If you have a few hours to spare or would like to help us continue our valuable work, then there are a number of things you can do.
You could:
· Place a Samaritans collecting box on your premises.
· Fundraise at work by holding a raffle, sweepstake, dress down day, table quiz, race night, boss does the sandwich run, etc.
· Provide free or discounted in-kind services for Samaritans e.g. print, stationery, design, advertising or consultancy for a specific project. Perhaps you have a company publication where you could insert a Samaritans ad. Maybe you have a product you could donate for us to raffle. Perhaps you could provide something as simple as supplies of tea or biscuits for our volunteers while they man the phones.
· Inform us of any charitable donation system or opportunities that exist in your company/workplace, e.g. a chosen charity of the year, payroll deductions, social events that raise funds.
· Display one of our posters or our literature in your workplace. |
