Our Services In addition to offering emotional support by phone, email and face-to-face, Telford Samaritans also reach out into the community by:
· Visiting young offenders at Stoke Heath YOI near Market Drayton. · Supplying speakers to talk to groups and organisations interested in learning more about our work.
Prison Support The Prison Service is committed to reducing suicide and self-harm amongst inmates, who are at far greater risk than the general population.
Experienced Telford Samaritans visit Stoke Heath YOI to offer emotional support directly to inmates face-to-face. Inmates can ask for the dedicated Samaritans phone which makes calls direct to our branch.
We also provide a prisoner listener scheme where Samaritans trainers select, train and support inmates to become Listeners. These Listeners befriend fellow inmates in line with the values of Samaritans.
Schools and Colleges Telford Samaritans have a programme of talks aimed at pupils attending secondary school and college to explain the work we do and the support we can offer.
Outreach We also provide speakers to visit businesses and organisations to spread the word about the work we do and how you may be able to help us. We are also able to supply a variety of posters and other display material which may be of interest.
For more information please contact us either on 01952 252675 or telfordsamaritans@gmail.com
Please note that the office line cannot be used to talk to us for emotional support. |
